Great Night Had By All – Superb Sum Raised.

The success of last night’s Forum/ DVD night was characterised by the ‘feel-good’ factor that swept through the ‘sell-out’ audience. The night was a jam packed affair in many respects, not least by the amount of Berwick Speedway supporters who purchased their tickets, and eagerly arrived early as to get a good seat but also by the entertainment provided.

Wuffy’s farewell…. funeral details announced.

Rob Woffinden’s Funeral will take place on 11th February at 1pm at The Woodlands Crematorium, Brumby Wood Lane, Scunthorpe DN17 1SP.

Calling all Volunteers…. Track work needed this weekend!

‘Due the better weather, and wishing to make a head-start on track preparation for the coming Season, Ian Rae is looking for volunteers starting THIS Saturday, the 6th February, 9.30am, to start essential track maintenance.

All help will be greatly received, both this Saturday and also Sunday 7th February, 9.30am.

R.I.P. – Rob “Wuffy” Woffinden

Berwick Speedway and all connected with the club were deeply saddened to hear the news early Saturday morning (January 30th 2010) of the death of former Bandit, Rob Woffinden.

“Wuffy” had battled bravely with his fight against cancer and did manage to achieve his final ambition – to see Christmas Day with his family, but today, his battle reached it’s chequered flag.

Calling All Speedway Staff – Calling All Speedway Staff!

An all-important staff meeting for Berwick Speedway has been called for Friday 12th   February at the spiritual home of the Bandits, ‘The Grove’, Tweedmouth at 7.30pm.

Any staff who are unable to make the even are asked to  please contact staff-controller Ian Rae via club@berwickspeedway.co.uk or phone 07955211618 in advance to let the club know.

“Razor”  is also on the lookout for any volunteers to assist with track work and  stadium maintenance over the weekends starting leading up to the 2010 campaign, with the work sessions starting on Saturday 13th February.

Fixtures are out for 2010.

Berwick “AJS” Bandits Speedway Club’s have revealed the list of fixtures for the forthcoming 2010 Premier League season starting with the now traditional Tyne Tweed Trophy event with the Newcastle Diamonds home and away over opening weekend.

Michal Makovsky, 10 years a Bandit and top points scorer takes centre stage on March 27th with a remarkable line up for his much deserved testimonial meeting.

Together is better!

The Berwick Speedway Supporters Club held their EGM today, to discuss a proposal by Berwick Bandits Speedway Club Ltd. to enhance the present ‘Supporters Club,’ to an official body of the club, in essence a ‘Berwick Bandits Speedway ‘Members Club’.

Corrine Gillie, the chairperson of the committee opened the meeting and passed on to Phil Newton for a presentation to outline the proposals on offer. These proposals are yet to be agreed upon in detail but are a guideline of what the Speedway Club is offering to ‘Members’.

A brief synopsis of the proposals are as follows:-

Success All The Way At Bingo Night.

The Family Bingo night held in Coldstream on Saturday night was an excellent success and the club raised  £325.00 in total.
