Together is better!

The Berwick Speedway Supporters Club held their EGM today, to discuss a proposal by Berwick Bandits Speedway Club Ltd. to enhance the present ‘Supporters Club,’ to an official body of the club, in essence a ‘Berwick Bandits Speedway ‘Members Club’.

Corrine Gillie, the chairperson of the committee opened the meeting and passed on to Phil Newton for a presentation to outline the proposals on offer. These proposals are yet to be agreed upon in detail but are a guideline of what the Speedway Club is offering to ‘Members’.

A brief synopsis of the proposals are as follows:-

Berwick Bandits Speedway Club’s have revealed a new sponsorship deal that will see the return to motorcycle racing of the legendary “AJS” initials, when the timber, sawmilling company of A & J Scott Ltd become the Berwick Bandits Speedway main team sponsor for 2010.

It was with great sadness that we at Berwick Speedway heard of the death of Graham Platten today (10 December).

Graham was Track Photographer at Shielfield from 2000 until the end of the 2008 season but had to give up his familiar role on the Centre Green before the start of the 2009 campaign due to illness.

BANDITS LOOK AHEAD TO 2010

Berwick Bandits plans for the new Season which commences mid-March 2010 are well advanced.

Team building including the return of the highly popular skipper Paul Clews is progressing well and admission/advertising and sponsorship prices have now been set for the new term.

One major issue being highlighted at this time is the matter of a main TEAM/CLUB SPONSOR for 2010 and Bandits are willing to speak and meet with anyone now interested in joining up with their progressive club.

Bandits Official Wins Top Industry Award.

Berwick Bandits Speedway Club’s Health & Safety Officer / Environmental Marshall, George Fairgrieve has become the latest to be honoured within the club when he received one of the highest awards his fellow professionals can bestow.

On Wednesday evening, 18 November 2009, George was made a Fellow of The Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland, an award which can be conferred on a member who is considered to have rendered outstanding and distinctive service to the Institute and in the wider field of Environmental Health and George is now one of a select band of around 20 such award … Continue Reading

Dennis McCleary On VAT…

Long serving Berwick Official Dennis McCleary has added his congratulations to the Berwick Promotional Team in keeping prices for admission at virtually the same as last term, for the 2010 season.

McCleary, involved with the club for over 40 years stressed: “Fans should be well pleased with the position. Remember in January, V.A.T.  goes back up to 17.5% from 15% and that is a cost which must be born by the club.

More Great Admission Price News….

Berwick Bandits Speedway Club Limited also confirmed their intention to continue with their popular ‘Family Ticket’, this scheme allows two adults and two children admission to an exciting evenings racing at a reduced rate, compared with ‘full admission prices’.

Furthermore, the management of the Bandits have agreed to ‘peg’ their price for a ‘Family Ticket’ at the same low price as the 2009 Season, only £30.
