The Bandits have filled the gap left by the departure of Henning Bager with the signing of 31-year-old Super-Swede Benny Johansson.
Johansson has ridden in his native Sweden and Finland with his current Swedish side, Filbyterna, and has also ridden for Griparna, whilst in Finland he’s been associated with Seinajoki.
He makes his Bandits’ debut this Thursday night in the Premier League match at Redcar against the Bears before seeing his new home track on Saturday in Berwick’s tough clash with the King’s Lynn Stars.
Berwick promoter Peter Waite said: “Benny come to us with good recommendations behind him with many testimonies saying he’s just the sort of rider who’ll fit in well with our set up and be capable of putting a good few wins behind him.
“His debut meetings, home and away, should be good exciting events and a great way for him to get used to the ways or British Speedway.”
