Initially listed for last weekend the Austrian crashed on the continent leaving Berwick with a worrying hole to fill due to an suspected broken collar bone.
In the end junior Greg Blair deputised but broke a thigh at Glasgow on Sunday.
But now it’s been discovered by Austrian doctors that Hauzinger’s injury was no where near as severe and has responded exceptionally well to laser treatment.
The rider contacted the club on Wednesday and proclaimed his fitness was fine and he was willing to “give it a go” this weekend, starting with his debut for Berwick at Edinburgh on Friday night.
Berwick Promoter Peter Waite said: “Manu’s unexpected contact really saved us a lot of heartache for we were looking at having to change the team a second time before we’d ridden with a full side.
“Riders were simply not available to come in for Manu and it was looking like we’d have to run again over a busy Easter programme with Conference League guests with no prior Premier League average but he’s saved the day and for the first time in 2008 we ride at full strength on Friday.”
Hauzinger’s home debut will come on Saturday night at Shielfield Park (7.00pm) against Workington Comets led by Carl Stonehewer and Kauko Nieminen with the return in Cumbria on Easter Monday again at 7pm when he takes up his place in the side at number five due to a recent reassessment of Tero Aarnio’s average by the authorities taking it down from 7 to 5.
