An all-important staff meeting for Berwick Speedway has been called for Friday 12th   February at the spiritual home of the Bandits, ‘The Grove’, Tweedmouth at 7.30pm.

Any staff who are unable to make the even are asked to  please contact staff-controller Ian Rae via club@berwickspeedway.co.uk or phone 07955211618 in advance to let the club know.

“Razor”  is also on the lookout for any volunteers to assist with track work and  stadium maintenance over the weekends starting leading up to the 2010 campaign, with the work sessions starting on Saturday 13th February.

Fixtures are out for 2010.

Berwick “AJS” Bandits Speedway Club’s have revealed the list of fixtures for the forthcoming 2010 Premier League season starting with the now traditional Tyne Tweed Trophy event with the Newcastle Diamonds home and away over opening weekend.

Michal Makovsky, 10 years a Bandit and top points scorer takes centre stage on March 27th with a remarkable line up for his much deserved testimonial meeting.

Together is better!

The Berwick Speedway Supporters Club held their EGM today, to discuss a proposal by Berwick Bandits Speedway Club Ltd. to enhance the present ‘Supporters Club,’ to an official body of the club, in essence a ‘Berwick Bandits Speedway ‘Members Club’.

Corrine Gillie, the chairperson of the committee opened the meeting and passed on to Phil Newton for a presentation to outline the proposals on offer. These proposals are yet to be agreed upon in detail but are a guideline of what the Speedway Club is offering to ‘Members’.

A brief synopsis of the proposals are as follows:-

The Family Bingo night held in Coldstream on Saturday night was an excellent success and the club raised  £325.00 in total.
Thanks to all who attended and donated raffle prizes.

LEGENDARY IVAN MAUGER TO VISIT BERWICK

Nine times Individual Speedway and Longtrack World Champion Ivan Mauger OBE, MBE is on course to visit BERWICK SPEEDWAY, on Saturday 31st July when he will be doing book signings of his new autobiography which will be officially launched at the British Speedway GP at Cardiff on 10th July.

Pre-Season Bash – The details….

Berwick Bandits Speedway club boss John Anderson was pleased to announce details of this years ‘Pre-Season Bash’ to be held on Saturday March 6th, 7pm.

A now annual event, takes on more prestige this year with the venue being announced as Berwick Holiday Centre.

The venue was once a popular place for parties, and Speedway End of Season Dances were regularly held there until some 20 years ago, when previous owners of Berwick Holiday Centre, did not entertain ‘local’ parties, but instead used the facilities for the many tourists that flock to the area … Continue Reading

B.S.S.C Change Bingo Venue….

The Family Bingo Night that was to take place in the Cornhill Village Hall on Saturday January 23rd has changed venue to the Coldstream Community Centre due to roof damage in this terrible weather.

Everything else is still the same and the time is  7pm along with teas, coffees and a grand raffle – donations would be welcome.

BERWICK BANDITS ANNOUNCE MAIN SPONSOR FOR 2010.

Berwick Bandits Speedway Club’s have revealed a new sponsorship deal that will see the return to motorcycle racing of the legendary “AJS” initials, when the timber, sawmilling company of A & J Scott Ltd become the Berwick Bandits Speedway main team sponsor for 2010.

Supporters’ Club Meeting – Snowed Off

The Berwick Speedway Supporters’ Club E.G.M has been cancelled on Sunday 10th January at 2pm in the Black and Gold due to the adverse weather conditions.

It will be re-staged on Sunday 24th January at 2pm once again in the Black and Gold.

The B.S.S.C  are also holding a Family Bingo Night in the Cornhill Hall on Saturday 23rd January at 7pm along with Teas, coffees and a grand raffle – donations would be welcome.
