Berwick Speedway and The Michal Makovsky Testimonial Committee are combining forces for a special night on Saturday 6th February in The Black and Gold at Shielfield Park and YOU COULD BE LINKED IN ON THIS NIGHT AS MAIN SPONSOR!

Michal Makovský is launching his Testimonial 2010 Season with a Scottish Night to be held at the Black & Gold, Tweedmouth on Saturday 16th January 2010 start 7.30pm.

Tickets are very limited in numbers and are available from Taffy’s Time Machine, Marygate, Berwick, Mitchell’s Newsagents, Chirnside, Cornhill Village Shop or via email to admin@michalmakovsky.com

The night will consist of traditional Scottish Fayre of Haggis, Neeps and Tatties Supper, provided by Andersons’ Quality Butchersand Cornhill Village Coffee Shop.

It was with great sadness that we at Berwick Speedway heard of the death of Graham Platten today (10 December).

Graham was Track Photographer at Shielfield from 2000 until the end of the 2008 season but had to give up his familiar role on the Centre Green before the start of the 2009 campaign due to illness.

Legendary Multi World Champion and New Zealand star, Ivan Mauger has been behind new Berwick signing Jade Mudgway’s moves to become a top performer in British Speedway.

Berwick’s speedway Bandits have named their full seven-man roster for the 2010 campaign.

Club owner John Anderson, speaking at tonight’s Christmas Dance organised by the Bandits’ Supporters Club, confirmed only two of his 2009 riders will line up, alongside two homecoming former Berwick favourites and three brand-new faces.

“When Lynda Waite and I took over this club a year ago, we had to hit the ground running” he admitted.

The complete line-up for the 2010 Berwick Bandits will be revealed during the Christmas celebrations this Saturday night, December 5th,  at the Black and Gold in the grounds of Shielfield Park.

Tickets for the Supporters’ Club Christmas Disco are still available (£8.00 per head- non members and £6 for members) from Taffy’s Time Machine, Andersons’ Quality Butchers and The Cornhill Village Shop, a great event which includes Scott Courtney’s “Warehouse Announcement” playing live is now even more of an unmissable night when the full one to seven will be named for 2010 by the promotion.

Berwick Bandits plans for the new Season which commences mid-March 2010 are well advanced.

Team building including the return of the highly popular skipper Paul Clews is progressing well and admission/advertising and sponsorship prices have now been set for the new term.
