Michal skippers the side into their 41st season of action in what will be his 7th straight season on Tweedside, the longest serving Bandit for many a long year. His love of speedway was kindled near his home town when he was 17, in 1993. His official debut in official UK competition came for the Bandits on March 31st, 2001 at Shielfield Park vs. Sheffield Tigers in the Premier Trophy when he scored 10+1 from 5 rides.
2 years before that he had become the Czech National Champion in a fine display of racing. He’s steadily improved over his many years with Berwick, skippering the side to their highest Premier league placing in 2005 and was the top scoring Bandit that season with a whopping 505 points to his name in that ever-present year. He’s highly experienced and motivational having ridden in World Cups, Internationals and Grand Prix. He is one of Berwick’s all-time best and favourites with the crowd.
Magosi has a wealth of speedway experience worldwide including regular action in Germany and Poland as well as Grass Tracking in France, but has had few excursions into the British scene in his 14-year career.
For his country he’s made appearances in the World Team and World Cups, putting in some determined performances at the sport’s highest levels.
Back in Hungary he’s ridden for Tisza Volán, Hajdú Volán and Gyulai Speedway Club.
Tero is by trade a car body repairer, but has raced speedway since his first battles with the shale in 1995 when nine years of age. He made his professional debut in 1997 for Finnish club Rospiggarna, the team he remained with to the end of 2002.
More recently he’s raced for Eldarna and Kuusankosken Moottorimieskerho but was also part of the Finish Motorcycle Union national team management side of things. In his final year at Rospiggarna he won a leagues championship winners medal amongst other accolades including a very fine second place on Finnish U-21 Final of 2002.
Adrian has always been a controversial character in his time as a Bandit, not least in his on/off relationship with the club. He has, however always been popular with the local support who would always rally to his cause.
He first rode speedway in his home town at 13 years of age making his UK debut for Berwick vs. Sheffield on March 31st, 2001, scoring a good nine points from five rides. He remained a Berwick Bandit until early 2006 when team changes shockingly saw him leave the set up, and despite talks of a return, it didn’t happen.
Come 2007 he remained on the Continent crashing heavily out of competition late in the season, but has now made a full recovery and is raring to go again and make 2008 another great year for him on Tweedside.
Adam is the son of Kenny McKinna and is the nephew of Kenny’s racing brothers, Charlie and Martin. The Glasgow-based rider had his first full season in the Premier League in 2006 with Newcastle, although his efforts were hampered with a nasty wrist injury that never seemed to really clear up fully.
He first rode motorcycles at the age of 10, hitting the speedway tracks at 16.
His division three debut was made for Armadale Devils at Rye House on July 17th 2004, when he scored one point from three rides.
He has also ridden for the Cleveland Bays and Scunthorpe Scorpions at Conference League level.
He has not scored a huge number of Premier League points so far but he has never given anything less than 100% at every outing. He’s battled hard and ridden with tremendous enthusiasm and professionalism.
Scud is one of the very best entertainers on a speedway bike known to man! He has no idea of the meaning of giving up and tries his level best at all times, sometimes to the severe determent to his own health, he having suffered several really nasty injuries.
“The Scud” started riding speedway on the grass at 6 years of age, and shale at 15 on the Bradford Speedway Training School.
His Speedway debut was made for Cradley Heath vs. King’s Lynn on October 20th 1990, failing to score from 3 rides.
He’s ridden for the Stars, Sheffield, Exeter and of course Berwick in his time and is still one of the most popular Bandits of all time without a doubt, no matter who he’s riding for.
